Unusual Things To Do In Friday Harbor

Below, San Juan PM will take you on a journey of some of the most unusual things to do in Friday Harbor.

Pelindaba Lavender Farm

San Juan Islands Pelindaba Lavender Farm is a stunning location with views of the Olympic Mountains and a serene lake. Visitors can meander through 25 acres of aromatic fields where lavender plants are grown in accordance with organic standards.

Additionally, the farm has a nursery, an essential oil distillery, displays on the use of lavender and the goods it produces, and a Gatehouse Farm Store that sells over 200 products made with lavender for use in cooking, personal care, household products, and animals.

Stuart Island Marine State Park

3.5 miles of hiking paths, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, and crab fishing are available to visitors. Near Prevost Harbor, the park, which is a component of the Cascadia Marine Trail, has 18 primitive campsites set aside for kayakers and canoeists.

You can book a San Juan Island house rental near the state park and enjoy the stunning views of mountains, beaches, and more from the comfort of your vacation home.

Cattle Point Lighthouse

On the southernmost point of San Juan Island, Washington State, Cattle Point Lighthouse overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca, where the Haro Straits merge with the San Juan Channel. The state’s Cattle Point Natural Resources Conservation Area is next to the light. The San Juan Islands National Monument includes the lighthouse.

An 1888 lens lantern-equipped post was the first illumination source at this location. In 1921, a radio compass station took its position. On Cattle Point, a 34-foot-tall concrete tower with an octagonal shape was built in 1935.
