What Does Abundance Mean to You?

With over 7 billion people on planet earth, it’s possible that we might get millions of answers to the question: What does abundance mean to you?

For some, it’s all about money. People these days want a lot of money. They want power and influence. They want a better house and a car … more material possessions. It doesn’t seem to matter to most people that our time here on earth is brief—only about 80 years. During that time, we may accumulate a great deal of wealth, but as they say, “You can’t take it with you.”

Once our time on earth is over, we move on to a higher plane of existence. We no longer need clothes, houses, cars or food. That begs the question: Why do so many of us spend so much time and hard work trying to get those material possessions?

In society today, we’ve learned from the media and those around us, that having a great amount of material possessions makes us important. It makes us better than others.

Let’s look at a few quotes from some famous people on this topic:

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
―
Oscar Wilde

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
―
Albert Einstein

I believe Einstein says it best. Life is a miracle but we forget to treat it as such. Today is a good day to make a new commitment to live each day as if it’s a priceless gift.
