I direct this blog to "Townie" and dedicate it to him and his ignoramus attitude.  FYI, I was a police officer in a major metropolitan area small police department about the size of Christiansburg.  It was only 2.2 square miles but had 20,000 residents.  There were approximately 50 officers.  In that area we had murders, rapes, robberies, bank robberies, etc. ALL the time.  I was also on Blacksburg Police Department for several years.  Therefore, I do have an idea of how small town departments operate.  I know what is done and what can be done.  You dont have to be a rocket scientist to be an adminstrator of a company that has the same operating procedures.  Business law can teach you that.

I know how cops think and act.  The defensiveness and resistance you exhibit is normal because of your big ego.  Its natural.  You cant be a cop and have it any other way.  I KNOW who you are, what you are, and how you are better than you know yourself.

I remember way back in the day thinking how "rinky dink" Christiansburg Police Department was compared to others but now I do have a new sense of admiration for what OUR department is becoming.  "Dave C." helped me see the "new" police department and I personally know several officers who are great people.  However, cops with attitudes like "Townie" are not the type WE want or need in OUR town.

The agressive, macho, racial-profiling, prejudicial, discriminating, flirtatous, discounting, uneducated, and WASTEFUL old type of police officer is not what WE want or need.  WE want community police officers who want to "protect and serve" the residents of OUR town.

Once "Townie" has had the opportunity to get away from here, be on other departments in other areas, pursue a much high education, further his training and expertise, and get a bit older, he will realize how narrow-minded he was when he was a cop "a long time ago."  Let's hope his attitude lets him make it that far and it doesnt bite him in the *** someday.  He has a "hotshot" ego and it will cause him problems in the future.  I speak from experience on that.

To those officers on Christiansburg Police Department who know me, where I come from, who try to understand me, and take the time to talk to me, I appreciate all of you and your efforts.  May God bless you and may His peace & protection be with you all.
